Cookie Policy

What are cookies used for?
Cookies are strings of text that are placed and stored on the user's device for a certain time when the user browses the pages of the website through the use of their internet browser, according to user preferences or any blocks set in it.
Cookies, having regard also to the protection of personal data, can be distinguished according to:
(A) purpose: technical, analytical (assimilated to technical) or profiling (non-technical) cookies;
(B) origin: first-party or third-party cookies;
(C) duration: session or persistent cookies.
(A) Cookies suitable for storing information that the site is able to use to provide more efficiently, to the extent strictly necessary, the service requested by the user (e.g. to manage the shopping cart in e-commerce) are defined as "technical cookies".
These are equated with the so-called "analytical cookies" (web analytics), used to statistically analyze access or visits to the site and to allow the owner to improve the structure, navigation methods and content.
The use of "technical" cookies is not subject to the user's consent, as they are necessary to use the site and provide the services requested on it and, therefore, cannot be disabled. The "analytical" cookies, although not strictly necessary for the functionality of the site, can also be used without the user's consent as they are suitable for collecting statistics in an aggregate and anonymous way on the use of the website by visitors.
If, on the other hand, the cookies are used for the purpose of defining a profile of the user in order to personalize the service or any advertising campaigns aimed at him (e.g. profiling and personalized marketing), they are defined as "profiling cookies" (or "non-technical cookies") and their use is subject to free, informed, specific, unequivocal and possibly revocable consent from the user.
The purpose of profiling cookies, the first or the third party is to track the user's navigation, analyze their behaviour for marketing purposes and create profiles on their tastes, habits, and choices (eg social cookies). These cookies can only be installed on the user's terminal if the user has given his/her consent.
(B) As for their duration, cookies that expire at the end of a browsing session are defined as "session cookies" (e.g. useful for storing a user's purchase order), while those that are stored for a longer period (e.g. between browsing sessions) are defined as "persistent cookies" (e.g. useful for remembering user preferences).
(C) Finally, we distinguish between "first-party cookies" and "third-party cookies" depending on the website or domain that installs them: first-party cookies are installed directly by the website you are visiting, while third-party cookies are installed by a domain other than the one you are visiting (e.g. when the website incorporates elements from other sites, such as images, social media plugins or advertising).

How to manage cookie preferences?
Managing cookies is complicated, both for the website operator (e.g. we may have difficulty dealing with third-party cookies) and for the user (e.g. they may block cookies that are essential to the operation of the site).
An effective and efficient way, over time, to protect one's privacy is to express one's preferences on whether or not to consent to the installation of cookies through the settings of the browser used to surf the net (e.g. Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox etc.). Users, in fact, can change the default configuration and opt to delete/remove all or some cookies or block the sending of cookies or limit it to certain sites. We, therefore, invite each user to read the instructions for the configuration and management of cookies of each of the browsers used to surf the internet.
The disabling or blocking of cookies or their cancellation could compromise the navigation of the site, the optimal use of some of its areas, prevent some functions, and affect the operation of services provided by third parties.
